In just over two months, on February 9th, 2019 at the University of Warsaw, the 8th edition of the International Shipwreck Festival will take place. As always, we have prepared a marathon of presentations for you – this time it will be 28! Our lecturers include Richie Kohler, David Mearns, Timmy Gambin, Immi Wallin, Stefan Panis, Martijn Manders, Peter Campbell, Kari Hyttinen, Gianmichele Iaria, Steve Sanders, and many more.
We have also prepared one unique presentation for you – not related to wrecks. Chris Jewell, the cave diver who took part in the unprecedented operation of saving the boys in the Thai cave, Tham Luang, will tell you in detail what had happened there.
As part of the festival’s program, as in previous years, we have also prepared a few book premieres.
We will start the online ticket sales on January 1st, 2019 and the price remains unchanged – the tickets cost PLN 100 each. You will also be able to purchase tickets the day of the festival for PLN 140 each (cash only). After the marathon of the festival’s presentations, we invite you to a festive banquet that will take place in the historic halls of the University of Warsaw. During the banquet, delicious dishes and fine wines will be served.
Also, during the banquet, David Mearns, who discovered the famous cruiser, HMS Hood, will tell you how the ship’s bell was found and how it was recovered. You can see the bell now in the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Also, you will be able to draw a dry suit funded by our sponsor, the British company, OTTER. The invitation to the banquet will only be available for purchase online for PLN 200.
